Bono Poster

A client came to me after seeing a typographic self-portrait I created and asked me to make one of Bono as a birthday gift for their significant other. I chose an iconic photo to use as a reference, and I requested for the recipients favorite song by this artist in order to make it more personal. I chose a font that I believed would create shading effects well while also kind of representing the artist and song itself, and then began shading in parts of the portrait one piece at a time using a single line or verse or phrase at a time. I decided to keep this piece of work black and white because the shading may not have been at as obvious with the addition of extra color.
